Does any have any information on the algorithm\methodology behind the address type-ahead. I vaguely remember coming across an IBM document years ago that had a detailed developer write-up on it and explained some of the seemingly inconsistent behavior of it. I can't seem to find the document now, though. I had an executive user recently ensnared in a behavior that I've seen before with the type-ahead. It's worth mentioning that we're at Notes version 8.5.2. I had his client configured to search our Domino directory. He'd type the first three characters which is a regional prefix for about 20 of our groups. He'd get 6 results in the type-ahead in no particular order. I would do the same thing and get 14 results, again in no particular order, but my first 6 results differed from his. We're both pointing at the same Domino directory and both have the same exact address look-up settings. I know I've seen this before and I think it's working as designed, but I lacked the official explanation from IBM and ultimately sounded like a bumbling idiot trying unsuccessfully to explain it to him. This user was a former Exchange\Outlook user. I've never worked in an Exchange shop, but I've worked with former employees of Exchange shops and I gather from their frustration with the addressing features in Lotus Notes that Exchange has a more user friendly or, in the least, consistent addressing feature. Eventually, I had the user merely click on "To:" and find the address by actually searching the Domino directory.
