I am having troubles receiving emails from only one particular sender. The messages that are being sent are sent to a group of people. I will explain the setup I have and then state what I am having troubles with.
Our Email is routed from our ISP based on our domain name. When it arrives, it is routed driectly to a pc that ONLY has NAV for Internet Gateways. After NAV scans for possible viruses, it then routes the email message to our Exchange Server 2000 to port 25. From there, it checks to see if there is a valid SMTP address and sends the message.

PROBLEM:
For some reason, when the sender sends the email message, it get Quarentined on the NAV for Internet Gateways pc. It is quarantined with an error, with the email address <#Name@senderdomain.com. Notice the "<" in front of the address. I believe, in fact I know that that is causing the problem. Is NAV tacking that on when it is scanned??

I solved this problem last summer when we had cc:mail 8.2. What I did is Lotus cc:Mail had a SMTP Link program that had to be installed on a separte pc from the server. In the settins of the SMTP, there was an address translation table. Here is where you would put in the address of the recipent, and then the put the cc:Mail mailbox the email address belonged to. So i created a new address and added the "<" in front of it. After the message was scanned, it found a user that matched, since I put a "<" in fronnt of it.

In exchange server 2000, I can't add another smtp address because it will not let me add a "<" in the address.

Does anyone know of a possible answer to resolve this issue??

Thanks.

Nick
