I have searched for the answer here and do not specifically see the steps needed to do what we need to perform.
We have a corporate Lotus Domino Notes server and for local users they use Outlook Express.
We need to create an address book based off of our Corporate Address book to give to Outlok Express and Outlook Users.
We also need to have a utility to migrate users who are moving from local Outlook Express to Notes. And also migrate users from Notes to Outlook Express as there roles change.

So far I have only found the routines need to move the outlook express database to notes.

Is there a way to create an address book file from our corporate server that we can export out to the Outlook Express users?

And is there a way to export the personal address book the users created in notes to Outlook Express?

We use Notes R5.02b for the Client
And Domino 5.09 on the mail server.

I am trying to get my head around what we need to export and in what format. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to map the field names in Notes to the appropriate entries in Outlook.
Then, create a view in the NAB that gives each document you want to export and lists all the data you need to export, with the new field names as column title.
Export the view to a tabular text file, load it in Excel and clean it up there. Then, from Excel you'll certainly find a good way to load it into OutLook.

I don't know outlook express from a programmer point of view.
But if you install LotusCOM, you can write VB(A) programms to access Lotus Databases.
This could also a way to export addresses.
(I think, there must be some Visual Basic Object to access outlook address book)

Cool sounds like a good approach to start. I can automate the Exel process with scripting and if need a more robust solution will look at LotusCOM.
Is there a standard for the names in the lotus database or is it more flexible.

No flexibility in Notes design, you have to know the exact field names.
For that, you need to have the Designer. Either that, or you need to be very good with the Document Properties dialog box and a good deal of intuition.

Hi,

If you want to sove the address book issue without programming:

Activate the LDAP protocol on your Domino server. This way all Outlook users can browse the Domino address book.

You can also considering installing iNotes for Outlook that will bring a lot of Notes power to Outlook.

Both things are completely covered in the Notes administration help.

For the migration:

Lotus only provides tools for migrating from Outlook towards Notes. The other way around should be provided by Microsoft.

Consider moving your Oulook users completely to iNotes with local replication if they can not use a Notes Client. Then the need to migrate users is obsolete in the future.
