Address Book Not Updating

We have several users that cannot download the Global Address Book. We have tried deleting the Outlook profile and recreating and uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook with no success. The error is "Task Microsoft Exchange reported error (0x8004010F): The operation failed. An object cannot be found". One user uninstalled Outlook 2007 and installed Outlook 2003 and was then able to download the Global Address Book successfully. I am running Outlook 2007 and I can download the Global Address Book successfully every time. We are running Exchange 2007. Any ideas?

How new are the users? I have found in the past that "cached exchange mode" can mean the GAL does not update for over 24 hours, try un-ticking this on the user setup.
 
The users in question have been in Active Directory for at least 4 years. I've already turned "cached exchange mode" off for months now and tried to download the GAL for these users intermittently over the coarse of several weeks. Any other ideas?
