Additional Memory for HP LaserJets 4, 5, 6, 1100 and 2200

I would like to know if it is really practical to add new memory to the older HP model printers, especially the 4,5 and 6. One of our users on a Dell Inspiron D600 notebook, brand new last month, tried to print a 32mb PDF File on his HP6 and it caused a temporary application hang.

I think HP no longer even offers such memory, and my review of some of the posts here suggests people have run into problems with memory.

Is there a place in the Toronto, Ontario area that sells reliable printer memory including the printers listed above?

Is there a reliable web-based source (regardless of location) that sells reliable printer memory?

Try an ebay search. There have been many sellers there with memory in the past. I've bought several from even earlier models.

hp 4,5,6 series printers? if they still work for you, keep'em running and out of the landfill

I would agree with the above, try Kingston, they make the proprietary RAM for HP, as well as memory to add on.
In just doing a quick search, I see that they still have the 2200 RAM (16MB) listed as supported---reseller's links with prices ranging around $24.

Kingston also has a great "no longer supported" info part as well. It looks like 4, 5, 6 and 1100 are no longer supported, but they still list all the viable information for informational purposes (i.e. for you to get it 2nd hand off ebay)
