additional HD merger

my hard drive is running out of space on my network. I want to add an additional HD, but keep the same drive letter. Is there a way of merging the 2 hardrives and just making one drive letter?

I know you can do this in a RAID array. I believe I've seen a software solution on the net but can't find it.
