I have an Exchange 2003 server which is hosting email from one main domain name and approximately 10 other domain names. Up until now i've never had problems setting up users to receive email from the other domain names. There is a particular domain which has been set up on the server since day one, but we have never had any users with addresses on it. I've now come to set up some users, and emails aren't coming through. When i telnet in to the SMTP port from an external source i'm told that the server cannot relay for that address.

I'm a bit stuck as everything seems to be set up the same for this domain as it is for the other domains.

If i telnet into the SMTP from my network and send an email to the address i have created, the user gets it.

Can anyone give me any advice on this?

Thank you in advance!

make sure that domain name appears in at least one recipient policy, or the server won't accept mail for it.

Plan for performance, and capacity takes care of itself. Plan for capacity, and suffer poor performance.

Thats got it thanks, i had it listed in the recipient policy but not ticked. Have done that and it's now working!

Thanks for your help!
