Hello Everyone

I'm using Crystal Reports 8.5/Crystal Enterprise 8.0 attached to an Informix Dynamic Server 7.3 via ODBC Drivers.

In a report is it possible two have two lines in the detail section for one record based on a condition?

Another way to ask this might be 'Can the details section be larger (enough to fit two rows worth of data) based on a condition?

As always, your help is appreciated!

Thanks,

Jack Luster

You may insert second detail section, put data you need on it, and suppress the line when the condition not met.

Yes, you can do this.

You need to create another detail section, so that you have a Details A and a Details B.
In the area to the immediate left of the report, right click where it says Details.
Choose Insert Section below.
This creates the B section.

Now, place all the extra fields that you want to show when the conditon is met, into the Details B section.

Next, Choose Format, Section.
Highlight Details B inthe list.
Click the X+2 button next to Suppress(No Drill Down).
Enter your condition to control the section suppression.
It should be something like this:

{table.field} = True

When your condtion is met, you will display the 2 rows of data. When the condition is not met, the Details B will be suppressed.
