we have a WAN with approx 15 sites spread out over the country. each of these sites was operating with a single DC holding DNS, WINS, DHCP etc. clients range from windows 95 up to XP. the problems started when an additional domain controller was put on each site (this server is running DNS and SQL but not WINS), a lot of the down level clients were unable to logon to the network. errors reported were that passwords were incorrect, server couldnt be found etc. giving these machines a static ip resolved the issue temporarily but we found that as soon as the new dc was switched off the problem went away.
anyone have any ideas aat all?!
