I am migrating a small office with one NT 4.0 Server to 2000 by adding a new machine running 2000 Server. I know that if I were migrating machines I could just install 2K on the NT PDC, however I am simply installing a new machine. I would like the old machine to become a BDC as well. Can i simply add the 2000 Server machine to the domain then run DCpromo? Will that migrate all the user data, etc, to the new machine?
