I have been asked if it is possible to add a list of values in a column but to only add every alternate value. Therefore if I have a column with 50 values I only want to accumulate 25 of the 50.

For even cells:
=SUMPRODUCT((MOD(ROW(A1:A20),2)=0)*(A1:A20))
For odd cells
=SUMPRODUCT((MOD(ROW(A1:A20),2)>0)*(A1:A20))
