I am trying to add new users to an XP Pro SP2 machine. Everytime I do, they do not have access to: Spybot-S&D, Adaware, Spywareguard & spywareblaster. Also, when I log a new user in, MS Office 2000 starts the installation routine again.
All other s/w runs fine.

Help!

Thanks!

open word under an administrators profile, it should run through the installation thing, then you will not have to do it again, I believe some other office programmes may need this to be done also.As for the applications its a rights issue, to check this make a user who cant get one of these programmes to work a local administrator on that PC ONLY, and see if they can use the programmes now, if they can first check the permissions on the folders and files that are used by the problem applications to see if the user has rights to use the folders if they do you will probably have to look into rights under individual registry keys which can take a while. But to make things easier get hold of a copy of regmon.exe and capture what goes on when you execute the application ( adaware ect. )regmon will tell you what keys have been used in the proccess and remember dont forget to remove the user from being an administrator of that PC.

I actually got it working, after much grief...(I've been trying to find an answer to these issues for a few days now, on several forums - and you were the first to respond!)

I created a temp user with admin privileges, and logged in. MS Office tried to install again - so I let it. I then reinstalled spybot, etc. as the temp user. When I rebooted & logged in, everything was fine.

After that, I copied the temp user to the default profile, and started creating my end users (as standard users). All worked fine. The only tweak needed was to change the user info in MS Office.

As long as I install s/w to the temp (admin) user (and as the administrator user), it all works fine. But I did need to let Office do its thing the first time as the temp user...

Again, you are the ONLY one who has responded out of numerous forums, and it is much appreciated.
