Is there a way to have who ever is logged into the server or windows 2000 computer to have all of their documents that they print have either a header or a footer reflecting their username. What I'm trying to do is when people log into a machine and print something their documents will be identifiable. Thanx

Jim

Hey

There is a simple answer to your question

"Nope" No program or tracking system has been developed yet
that will place a users name their printed doc.

Microsoft did come out with placing a secret code hidden in word documents but they got busted and stopped putting that tracer in thier products (yeah right)

You can look around and see if there is printer out there that might do it.

Can you not print a banner page to signify who it is?

I know this is done on Novel by deafult. Not sure how
to get winders to do it.

you can get windows to print banner pages if the printers are set up by going into the printers properties - Advance tab- seperator page and in the browse select pcl.sep file located in the winnt\system32 directory.
