It appears all of the trucks are busy in route 5 and any more calls made get a dial tone. How can I add more TN members to the route and can COT trunk members be in two different routes. Below is the route groups on the 61c. The outgoing callers in route group 5 are maxing out there available trunks. Can I add the members of route 2 to route 5? This is an old system and route 4 is no longer connected. What is the best way to remove route 4 completely? The route 5 users are in TGAR 1 while the users in TGAR 3 never have an issue making out going calls.

There are many DID trunks that sit idle, can they be used for outgoing paths?

There are a number of options that you can make. However, it looks as if all of your network trunks will need to be checked and the configuration updated where possible to remove all unwanted data.

The first thing to do is to run the attached tool

so that you can find out what routes are accessed when dialing out.

Also, the TGAR/TARG needs to be checked out for every route.
As you have a mixture of analogue and digital trunks, you need to find out all the trunks which are active and any that aren't to be verified with your local telco in case some trunks are faulty.

Some sites uses Earth calling or Ground start COT trunks and a reversal of the lines will prevent users from calling out.

DID can be used to dial out and for most customers, this is the preferred option. COT lines tend to be used as a last resort but other factors such as incoming line usage have to be taken into account.
