Adding text to the milestone bar

Can I add task name to the milestone bar to the left as the date is automatically placed to the right.

I have set up a column "Text 1" and copied the task names into it and have set the bar text up to display Text 1 to the right. Now I have made a second column "Text 2" but I can not get it to display to the left of the milestone.

Hi,

I am not able to reproduce this issue. Are you using Format > Bar or Format > Bar Styles?

Using Project 2010, Format > Bar Styles and placing Text1 to the left and Text2 to the right works fine.

What version of Project are you using?

I am using 2007.

I have done that but on the milestones it will not shown text 2.

I think I have uploaded a sample file.

Hi,

I've downloaded your file, used Format > Bar Styles, selected the milestone bar style and elected to show Text2 to the left and Finish date to the right. It appears without trouble.

Saved, closed, re-opened the file and all was well.

What service pack do you have applied? You should be at SP-3 for Project 2007.

Thank you for your help, that is some else I have learnt about Project, that each bar style is changeable.

Running SP2 will update.
