Hello

I need to add about 2 TB to a sharepoint for file storage. Is this as easy as asking IT to add drives (or a RAID) to the server and allocating that space to my sharepoint?

IT is dodging my questions. Please help!

Hello,

Adding diskspace to a server is an easy task (or let me say, if it is setup propely it is an easy taks :) ). Depending on the setup either a RAID set can be expanded with more disk and expand an existing partition or a new partition will be created.
Just keep in mind that SharePoint itself does not physically hold the files you add, those are stored in the SQL content database that sharepoint creates, so that is where you should have your extra diskspace allocated.

Cheers,
Thomas
