Adding static route to Passport 8600 management port 1

This is my first time using the Nortel platform.
I have received a 8600 with an older configuration, but, there is no provisions to add a static route to the
management port.
I can telnet to the management port from the adjacent
router, but, not from a device across the network from
that same router.

Try,

config bootconfig net <cpu> route add

save boot

Thanks, this is helpfull. I did not know about the
save boot command.
I will apply that as well.
