I have a T1 that is running through a 3600 router. I plan to add a second T1 coming into the same router from a different ISP. I want to load balance the outbound traffic, is this possible (I read a post about destination based load sharing, is that good?)? I plan to have one firewall behind the router. Is there a way to utilize the second T1 for inbound traffic if the first one goes down? Won't DNS get in the way? Is there an idiot proof guide to setting this up?

Thanks for any info.

I think you can load-balance by just assigning two default routes, one to each port. If primary DNS is outside, you might add some delay for name resolution.

You'd need cooperation upstream from the failed line to alter the BGP routes for your inside IP addresses to the backup port's IP address. I assume your ISPs could do this.
