Adding screenshots to a word documen 1

can someone tell me how can i add screenshots to a word file or to a ppt file?

To capture the screenshot, press Prnt Scrn (or Alt+Prnt Scrn to get just the active window)

Then paste into the file or into a graphics program.

For something quick when cropping needs to be done, I paste the screen shot in excel, use the crop tool and then copy that result into word. Probably doesn't save any file space, but it's easy to do.
