Morning All,

I want to add SBS 2003 to our current 2000 Environment (non-SBS). Is there a way to simply add the server to the domain, but NOT take control of DC/FSMO/etc/etc? I want to tinker with the new stuff before we go all-out on a 2003 environment.

Thanks!

In short, no. I wish it were.

Well, if you're ultimately going to go to a non-SBS 2003 environment, then testing with SBS doesn't make sense. A lot of the wizards available in SBS are not in the Standard version.

To echo karmic, no, you can't. SBS requires that it be a single domain environment, and that the SBS box be the forest root, and holder of all FSMO roles. You can, however, have multiple domain controllers in an SBS environment.
