Adding running header to multi-page Acrobat file

I am trying to add a running header to a very large Acrobat file and am wondering if there is any efficient way to go about this. Any input would be greatly apprciated!

The first thing that I'd probably try is to use the Forms tool to create a header on one page. Once you have it the way you want, you can duplicate that form field onto every page in the file.

Or you could use the 'watermark' feature which will allow you to add a header (text only) to every page. This is found under Properties when you choose Distiller as your printer.

The new Acrobat 6.0 (Professional - not sure if it's included in Standard or not) allows you to add headers, footers and watermarks. You can even add different ones for different pages or for odd/even pages it seems.

You seem to be a big fan of Acrobat 6 Tasha - pity it is so expensive. Particularly the Pro version.

I am a huge fan of it, yes. Except for the major bug I discovered over the weekend that I'm waiting to hear back about!

Lots of very useful new features have been added (from my company's point of view at least), although there are also a bunch of new features that we won't be making use of at all. All in all (if inter-document links would actually work) it's going to save us a lot of time and therefore money. So I was happy to pay for an upgrade to Acrobat 6 Pro as well as a new full version for my business partner. (Of course, I haven't installed the upgrade yet - we'll be 5 on one computer at least until this bug is fixed!)
