Good afternoon all, well here we go again, backups have been running fine, now i want to throw another kink in my backup schedule, and its causing a problem, that im not sure where to look for the answer.
Backup exec 9.1 running on win2k server. backing up locally fine, now i want to add a remote agent to another 2k server and backup its files. When i go into the install, and choose to do a Remote Install, and then right click on 'Windows Agent/Option Computers i get the prompt for the server im trying to add. I give User ID and Password credentials for the Domain for the remote machine, and i get the following error back:
"Attempting to connect to server \\(server) failed with the following error: the RPC server is unavailable."
i have checked in my services, and RPC services are both set to automatic and they are started. Not exactly sure what Backup Exec is throwing a error with. Any suggestions are certainly appreciated. And Thank you in advance.
Hearty Hello to SQLBill and the others that helped me on the original setup and connectivity issue. You all are a great group and certainly on the top of my lists for useful and informative help. Thank you all again.
