Hello - I've inherited the responsibility to care for our current phone system, which is a BCM400 with a Valcum V-9963 paging system with a V-9924C and 120W amplifier by Executone, INC.

- I failed computer programming my freshman year of college (2003), and I don't know that much about programming even now. I'm learning this system because I don't forsee us upgrading anytime soon.
So please be patient as I learn here.-

I have searched the manuals, google, and here, on trying to figure out how to add a phone set (or 2-3) to the paging system.

I have seen how to remove a phone from the paging system, but haven't found out how to add.

All the phones appear to be set to Zone 1. Rumor has it that some phones used to have announcements on them, but I haven't actually heard it.

Also - my phone has a single button for paging external speaker. And I believe all the phone are set to a "general" page, which is external only.

Specific Questions:
1) Does the paging system have a zone number? If so, couldn't I simply change the zone of the specific DN's to the paging zone?
OR
2) Would I have to reprogram all phones to page external speaker + specific zone (i.e. zone 3) in order to pull this off?
--- If some phones are already programmed to page to speaker + zone, could I find that out through the BCM managing software?

Thank you. (Also, if this needs moved, I apologize for putting it here.)

Feature 60 is to page then select Sets (1) Speakers (2) or Both (3)
You pick zones for sets and not for speakers that are overhead (unless a zone module is installed)

These are quick codes especially for programming quick page buttons
F61X is for sets
F62 is for Speakers
F63X is for both
X = the Zone of the Sets that you want
Use zone 0 to page ALL zones

i.e
F611 will page Sets Zone 1 (6 says page, 1 says Sets, 1 says Zone)
F62 will page only Speakers
F632 Will pages both Sets in zone 3 and Speakers (6 says page, 3 says Sets & Speakers, 1 says Zone)

In Sets/Capabilities putting a Set into Page Zone as a blank field will mean it will not receive a page.
If you put a set into Zone 3 then people will need to:
F613 to page Zone 3 sets
or
F633 to page Zone 3 sets and the Speakers

And now that I write this all out I just remembered I did a FAQ on this already here:
Each site is different as to which common features are used, using F60 is best for choosing all those options on the bigger sets or when you are a receptionist using all the different one daily.

A small business with a small warehouse would have:
F611 to page just sets
F62 to page just Speakers
F630 to page both Sets and Speakers
