Hi everyone:

I'm helping a friend that has an R7 processor. They had a brownout and the UPS didn't supply power quickly enough, and they lost all their system programming. An attempt to restore the programming failed, and we had to reprogram it all by hand. I've got it up again and it's functioning as it should, and we decided to add a PC backup/restore card to back up the programming to the card in case this ever happens again.

I tried to do the manual backup (#124) with the card in Slot 2, and the system keeps telling me to "insert card". We also tried Slot 1, same thing. I modified #123 to use the PC Card slot, but that didn't help, either. I also verified that the card is write-enabled.

Do I need to reboot the ACS before the Partner will recognize that a card has been inserted, or should it be detected as soon as it's inserted? I've backed up to internal memory, but would really like to backup to the card before we pull or lose power again.

Thanks for the help!

You should power it down before you put in the card. I would also check ext 10 or 11 to make sure it isn't giving a battery warning before you power it down.
