Hi,

After being advised, I have added: Date Range: [Enter Start Date (Jan 2004 = 200401)] & " And " & [Enter End date (March 2004 = 200403)] to my query so that I can add the chosen parameter to a report. This works fine for a table style report but not for a graph.

How do I add the chosen parameter to a report which has a graph in it?

regards
Pete

The graph's data source should have an SQL statement associated with it (click on the outer edge of the graph with righ mouse click and check properties). The SQL statement or query can then have a parameter added to it, its pretty straightforward, especially if you've worked with parameters before......

I have parameters which promt input when the report is run and so determins the report output. I want to show in the report header the chosen parameter, so for example when a specific date range is chosen, this can be seen on the report when it is printed. This is easy to do on a non chart report but I can not achieve this where a graph is present.

I usually use an input form for parameters because they are prettier to use and they were the first way I learned how to print the parameter on the report. If you were to use an input form for a parameter the field on the report would look something like. The form needs an OK, Cancel, and Close button. The cancel and close can perform the same task, the OK can be used to trigger the report/graph to open, you can add an If statement to make sure proper data is in the text field

=Forms!frmInput!Text4

You would likewise add that to your SQL criteria line.

Oops, let me clarify

SQL criteria line:

[Forms]![frmInput]![Text4]

Report field:

=forms!frmInput!Text4

Popup input form:

Name: frmInput
Field: Text4
