I hope someone can help.

I have installed solaris 7 on my server as a core installation. I now need to add packages that are not included in the initial install i.e. SUNWlibC.

If I try to do a pkgadd -d I get an error
pkgadd: ERROR: unable to open admin file <default>

Can anyone help me with the process of adding packages after the fact?

Thank you!

It's not clear whether you're specifying the location off the package with the -d option. If not, you need:

pkgadd -d <path to package>

/var/spool/pkg is the default. HTH.

Hi Jnothinghead,
I think you can do this using admintool.
choose Browse->Sofware and than
Edit->Add...

I'm trying to install the package off the Install CD for Solaris 7.

I can mount the cd by using
mount -F ufs -o ro /dev/dsk/c0t6d0s2 /cdrom

but if I cd to the /cdrom I can not see the files.

I am unable to use the admintool because of the core installation.

any suggestions??
Thanks
