Adding P690 to HMC

I have an HMC that suffered a fatal error recently. There was no recovering it and alas, there was no backup of the critical data.

I have since rebuilt the HMC and installed V 6.1.2. There are 2 P690 frames that this HMC manages. They appear to be connected via a serial cable. How to I get the HMC to see and talk to these boxes again?

For a p4 machine like the p690, HMC code at level 6 won't do. That HMC code level is for power 5, power 5+ or power 6.

You need older code. HMC 3.3.7 or HMC 3.2 .

Great! I dont know that this place has the older OS available. Any clues where I might find an ISO?

Recovery CDs for HMC V3.3 do exist, but you can't download them. You can however order them online:

But if you had a working HMC for your p690, you should have the recovery CDs for it. Start looking or order online and wait a few days...

Guess I will have to order. The HMCs we have, we "inherited" from another group. They did not provide any of the docs/media and they are now gone.

Just for correctness:

serial cable connection:
p4 (p670, p690, p650) - HMC 3.2 or 3.3

ethernet connection:
p5 - HMC 7.3.1-sp1 (V4 when it first came out)
p5+ - HMC 7.3.1-sp1 (V6 or V5? when it first came out)
p6 - HMC 7.3.2
