hi all, customer wants a new phone 30 module added, if i connect it to the next available expansion port will the extentions on existing modules stay as is at the moment.
thanks for your advise in advance.

Yes. Power down, add module, power up. Be SURE to upgrade/downgrade new module software as appropriate to match control unit software level.

yes, please follow the procedure mforrence mentioned, we've had a rash of issues with folks not following or not knowing the proper procedures and that sure makes a mess of things

I'm looking for a guide in upgrading the external modules.
apart from the "IP office 4.0 installation guide" i have not found further references on technical bulletins.

I made a "multi-stage" upgrade for two phone 30 modules. the guide says nothing about multistage, but the version the system allowed me to upgrade was prior to (7). And later making a deeper seek i found other bin files and the upgrade wizard showed me the (7) level version.

In your opinion could that procedure were harmful? how can i perform a downgrade and re-try the upgrade?

Alog units can go straight to whichever version you need, no multi stage.

DSv2 units <3.2 going to >4.0 need to go via 5.2(999).

Multistage upgrades are need mainly for control units.
