I have a 4 hard drives, 2(36gb) as raid 1 and the other 2(500gb) as raid 0. Now I want to add another hard drive(1tb) and it is full of data that I need to keep and want to be made available to the server. Is it possible to put the drive in and not have it wiped?

Depends on the controller and the raid type. Generally your controller will not allow it but some of the recent controllers with allow a stand alone drive to to be added as a single drive raid 0 without issues. I would not consider trying it before getting in touch with the raid card manufacturer.
