We are adding 20 more DID #s thru the PRI circuit to an offsite office which will not have an BCM just nortel phones. I was told this is called VOIP that will allow this to happen with out having an 2nd BCM.First, how do you set up the DN's and target lines for the new numbers to work functionally offsite or will someone really waste our time and money. I'm not sure this will really work with out an 2nd BCm; but I dont really know about VOIP. Please some understanding about what is needed to have this to work without an 2nd BCM. Thanks always

How are the 2 systems tied together? You can do this with Line Redirect.

I guess thats what I'm not understanding! How is it possible to do this if there is only one BCM at our location and the other office is just going to use the PRI circuit without an 2nd BCM. I would like to have more information on this, if soomeone can tell me?

How are the phones connected from the remote side to the BCM? Are the phones IP phones or are they normal M or T series at the remote side?

I guess it should be IP phones (I will find out more); but what would be needed if we want to go either way IP or M & T series phones. Just a guess with the M & T series phones that we will need a 2nd BCM? Can someone point me into a good understanding of what we should do?

I have done this before. I had 1 BCM with ip phones connecting to a POE switch on the remote end. Not sure what they actually did as far as configuring the switch, setting up Vlans, Qos, etc., but it worked fine.

Hi Tanjune

We need to know what type of phones at the remote end?

Are the phones installed and working?

If so can you ring the remote phones and ask them for the model numbers. It will be I something if it is an IP phone.(I 2004,I2002 or I 2001) If it computer based phone I2050

The way to assign the target lines to VOIP phones is no different to assigning the calls to local handsets.

But you would need to tell us if the phones are working and what type of phones they are on the remote site before.

ok i2004; but how do build the dns for new DID 7000-7719.

Thanks, everyone the threads and websites did it for me! I was able to programmed the i2004 phone and change the dn to match the DID blocks of #'s; also test the phone and it worked correctly. This issue is history. Thanks once again for everyone here who cares and who is helpfully. Lastly, (a big ups)thanks to Tek tips. OUUUUUUUUUUUUT.
