Hi, This is my setup:

One Active Directory Domain Controller - Windows 2000 SP4
With another serve hosting Microsoft Exchange 2003.

I will like to ad a new Windows 2003 active directory and I understand most of the steps I need to accomplish this however, being that this is the only AD in the network do I need to unplug the Windows 2000 sp4 AD server while running adprep /forestprep? I read in a few articles that it needs to be unplug from the network then plug back in. No sure if this is necessary being that this is the only server holding all the FSMO roles.

Any clarification will be appreciated.

Um, no, because you have to run the adprep commands on your existing 2000 schema master, which will be your DC.

I'm Certifiable, not cert-ified.

Great, that's what I thought. Little reassurance always help.
