Hi folks:

I've never added movie clips to any of our sites. But I recently built a site for my little boy and I want to put up some of the videos I have.

What is the most effective way to put the MPEG's onto the site so that people can view them.

Thanks in advance,

I recommend using links. It doesn't take up as much bandwidth as embedding them or streaming them.

"Ships that pass in the night and speak each other in passing;
Only a signal shown and a distant voice in the darkness;
So on the ocean of life we pass and speak one another,
Only a look and a voice; then darkness again and a silence."
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

You mean simply <a href="/video/video.mpg">Video</a>??
I tried that but it seemed to take forever? I'll try again.
Thanks.

u could also try to embed the file:
<embed src="TheMPG"></embed>

but i would ask u to use flash. import the mpeg file to flash and create a swf, call the swf in ur websiite. the size reduction is HUGE...

I think that's what I'll do....I'll use Flash. My little co-op guy did mention that Flash allows you to import MPEG files. This may be a better way of dealing with it.

Thanks very much. I know it seemed rudimentary...but I just never deal with video.

Cheers and thanks!

no problemmo...
