Due to the introduction of a new business system we are having to increase the amount of users on our solaris system.

We are trying to add alot users to one group.

The problem arises when we edit the file in a text editor.

The amount of people we can add to a group is limited by the end of a line.

How can we make the group contiue on the next line.

The max number we can get is 50 we need to get close to 100.
Or does anyone know of a work round.

Thanks

Not sure if this is feasible, or whether it would work, but could you make 4 'sub-groups' of say 25 each, then make these groups members of the group in question? Just an idea - HTH.

Just add as many group lines you need. This should work.
ex:
staff::10:user1,user2....
staff::10:userN,userN+1..... SCSA
