Hello,
When I am linking a file to an OLE object in access forms the file size increases dramatically.

I have a data mdb( with the tables in (thats 7mb)) and I have my forms/queries/reports mdb that is 23mb !.
the OLE type allowed is set to linked.
how can I link the picture without the size being so big ?

cheers.

I have somebad news for you I do not beleive you can, I have the same problem with my database tables=4meg program size = 17meg, it is a lot better than when it was embedded.
An option to look at if the link refers to a JPG on your hard drive try placing that file into a table and then linking all backgrounds to that table instead of outside the preogram, could work let me know how yo go.

cheers for this, however, how many pictures do you have linked to your db ?
I have tried adding more pictures and the database size hasn't increased by too much, I think it may be the intial adding the frame, etc to the form which makes it a large size...
I'll add more pictures and tell you what happens.
