Adding indexes to tables at runtime

I wish to add an index to an existing field in an existing table in an Access97 database. How can I do this programatically so that the specific field gets a primary key during runtime.

JET has a complete Data Definition Language with the ability to create (and DROP) indexes.

Take a look at The CREATE INDEX statement in the online reference.
