HI,

I have an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe M/B with an Antec Sonata case. The manual for my M/B shows the connection for the IEEE 1394 ( with 2 12V and 2 grounds. The wires coming out of my front IEEE 1394( port has only 1 12v and 1 ground wire. Will I be able to connect these.

Thanks

Generally, if the wiring/pins don't match exactly there will be problems, could even damage the motherboard.

If you have only the one 12V source on the case socket it may not even work.

you may find that the connection on your mobo is for dual ports. I had a similar situation with usb connections, the mobo had 2 but the front of the case only had one. i connected the one port being careful to ensure all connections on right places and all was ok.
