Adding Formula to the repository

I am using Crystal Enterprise v9. I understand that the version comes with a repository. I can see how to add labels and images to the repository but not formulas. I have about 600 reports...many that will use the same formulas. Often the formulas need to modified. Once the formula has been added to the repository (assuming that it is possible) how can I modify it?
I also realize that there is a software program that will modify the formulas. However this would also require that all the reports would need to be re-published. Something that I would like to avoid doing constantly.
