School computer lab running XPPro. Hundreds of profiles on each computer. Is there a way to add an internet favorite to all profiles? If I add to All Users it works for any new profiles, but not existing ones. So when a teacher has a website to provide for their class, I have to delete all profiles from all computers. Quite time consuming.

Thanks,

An Administrator ought to be able to just copy a link into the users Favorites folder from their own Favorites folder.

Force all XP users to use the Default User profile

I do have a default user profile set up on each computer. Copying the link into the favorites there works great - but only new profiles will get the link. Any already-existing profile on the computer will not and there may be a couple of hundred student profiles there.

I'm not too familiar with logon scripts - the ones we use were created by someone else. Is there a how-to somewhere?

Thanks!

Are these stand-alone machines, Workgroup LAN, or a Domain?

Logon scripts can be either a set of command lines, such as in a .bat file; or they can be scripting using Visual Basic or java.

If you could post back a copy of your existing logon script it would help.

I suggested using the logon script because by default the Administrator does not have access to the user profile for a read or write.
