How would I go about adding another computers domain as a trusted entity on my network?

Say I wish to add permissions to a folder, and I wish to be able to say MYDOMAIN\ and ANOTHER_DOMAIN\ both have equal rights.

Reason being - I wish to be able to have ANOTHER_DOMAIN\ being able to authenticate it self on my server, without having to recreate all the users, and making them have two sets of passwords.

What am I looking at here?

Thanks

Create a trust in Active Directory Domains and Trusts, note you have to create this in both domains (trusting and trusted)

-------------------------------

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!

I tried adding it - thanx for that,

Although it says Unable to contact a domain, hence it doesnt add it.

?!

Also - the other Domain is NOT on a local network, and is pretty far away.

What connectivity do you have between the 2 networks?

None as yet - am setting up a permanent VPN connection

Once you have your VPN in place you should be able to create the Trust.
