adding drop shadows to clipping masks?

Is there any way to add a drop shadow to a clipping mask?

Scenario:

I have imported a .jpg image into illustator. I want the corners of the image to be rounded, so I have placed the image into a clipping mask by using the rounded rectangle shape. Now i want a shadow.

Make a copy of your rounded rectangle, create a drop shadow with it and place it behind you clipped image.
