I'd like to add a drive to my current RAID5 configuration.

Current:

Compaq Proliant DL380 Server
Netware 5.1 SP6
3 Compaq 18.2GB hot plug Wide Ultra2 7200RM drives

I'd like to add 1 Compaq 18.2GB WU2 7200 drive to this configuration. Do I need to run the Compaq SmartStart CD to add the drive? If so, what selections/steps should I take? I didn't build the original config. so I'm not familiar with SmartStart but I do have the version 4.8 CD. After getting the drive added to the array, do I just need to expand the desired Netware volume/volumes to the newly added space?

Thanks for any help.

dont need smartstart

slap the drive in. the light will stay off
load cpqonlin
you will get a screen with a few options - something like select controller , something else and exit
select the controller
you will see the disk - and it will allow you to expand the array
after this your finished on the hardware side

then on 5.1 this is me getting rusty - you need to do it through nwconfig and expand the volume - you will need to add a netware partition to it as well first

Thanks terry12, that's exactly what I needed to know.
