Adding Drive to RAID5

Running a G1 HP/Compaq ML350 with a RAID5

We're looking to add an additional drive in order to increase drive space. Is there any catch to this or is it simply a matter of inserting the new drive and the RAID card will automatically adjust?

yep slap the disk in
then in the acu you need to expand array

then depending on os how you utilise the space
if it's netware , linux or that then all will be fairly automatic

if it's ms then you need to use partition magic or diskpart

Agreed. You can usually do this without forcing an outage as well. However it is usually best to perform this task when the server is least busy if you do.
