adding different number of fields for different records

I have made a layout that will act as a folder that holds either excel files or images. Each record may have different number of files associated with them, i.e. one will have 2 excel files and 3 images, another may have just one image file. To store these i would put them into
a container. I was wondering if i could have each record have a different number of containers for one another. Instead of me making a container for one record and filemaker making one for the rest of the record so each record has the right amount of containers as the amount of files each one has associated to them.

record->"folder" layout-> n number of containers for n number of files associated to them.
