Adding Default Route on S8700s via Linux Prompt

Anyone know how to add a default route to an S8700 server using a Linux Command? The only access I have is telnet. I have no http access. So, I have to be able to do it from the Linux prompt.

I've done '/sbin/route add default gw 10.90.240.1' and it says I don't have permissions.

I've done 'sudo /sbin/route add default gw 10.90.240.1' and it tells me I don't have permissions to execute that command as root.

I can't get my browser to the server until I have a default route on the S8700 since I'm on a different subnet. I can telnet to my router then telnet to the server, so that's why I only have telnet access. No dialin access and the people onsite are not keen enough to get out a laptop and hook up to the services port. Anyone?

No. They just don't give dadmin (or craft) the permission level to do it. I'm not sure why. It would make it a lot easier when all you have is telnet access. The commands are there, you just can't use them. That's why I asked if someone knew a way to run them while getting around the restrictions. Avaya tends to make little apps that do this stuff (like "netconfig" in an S8500) to make things "easier" even though it just really makes it more complicated.

I eventually was able to get someone to allow us to remote desktop to a PC at the other location and we just pulled up the browser from there. What a P.I.T.A.!
