question for all, i have to add an expamision cabinet to my csk1 1000e , can i add that cabinet with out powering down the main cabinet ??

hi roc221

Not sure if this is a trick question but simple answer is sure. I
Each cabinet has its own PS. Does not mean that an ini/restart won't be required after complete configuration etc but to simply add a cabinet on the wall and connect the UTP to the elan and tlan ports has no bearing on the main cabinet operation. Now an expansion chassis connection might be a different kettle of fish.

If you are adding an expansion cabinet to a Chassis then yes, I would recommend powering down the main cabinet. You have those 2 interconnect cables and I don't think it would be a good idea to connect those while the main cabinet is powered up.

thanks that what i wanted to verfiy .

thanks all for your input i will power down the main cabinet and connect the exp cabinet and all of the goodies and power both back up .
