Is it possible to add a command button to a report which I could use when the report is previewed? I want to use the button to set the visibility of certain sections of the report with immediate effect without having to re-run the report. Any other workarounds would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks, Moley

Moley,

No to the command button. Reports do not provide any provision for reacting to contorl events.

Therefore you will have to look to the report events or section events to control report behavior.

You didn't supply much information, but if you are trying to make a section invisible when there is no data, look at the HasData property and consider using it on the section's format event.

Cheers,
Bill

Thanks Bill,

I'm really looking for expand/collapse functionality but as there are no events, I guess I will have to think again.

Just to clarify, "expand/collapse" functionality is available, but must be set before or at the time the report opens. So if you want to allow viewers to "expand/collapse" certain sections, it can be done.

Cheers,
Bill
