Okay - The subject doesn't make a lot of sense.

I have a catalog I am laying out and at the beginning of each section I have an overview. I was hoping to be able to the page number each item appears on (sort of like a table of contents.) Sort of like autopage number to to a linked page. If that makes ANY sense.

ANYONE PLEASE?

Thanks

Benjamin

Try under Layout - Numbering & Section options. You can start a new master page for each section, then use the Numbering & Section options to create the number how ever you want it to be.

...have you looked into the table of contents feature within indesign, this uses paragraph styles to update and produce a contents text box or contents page...

...using the book feature you could have different indesign documents for each section, page 1 being the overview and also the listed items with page numbers (created by TOC's), each table of contents could then be styled differently if needed...

...using a separate document you can create a TOC on this document that lists everything in the book...

Well - neither of those answers show really what I want to do. I ended up just tieing the box on the "Overview" page (the box where the page number is going to be) to an empty box on the target page and then, once linked, inserted the "Next Page" character. Then I put all that on a layer that is locked so I don't accidentally delete something.
