Adding attachments 1

I know this may be easy to most of you.
How can i attach a document like a simple Word doc to my posts.
It says show a URL so does that mean i must store offsite?

Upload the attachment to an online storage service, then put a link to it in your post.

For instance, dropbox will give you a public folder that you can link individual files to, imugur can take photos, there's a link to media fire at the bottom of this page.
