Adding an 800 Series Board - what slot

Hello

We currently have a Magix R4 system with the following boards.
Slot 0: Processor: CKE5
Slot 1: 800 GL-ID
Slot 2: 024TDL
Slot 3: 016TTR
Slot 4: Merlin Msg R4

We have just aquired an additional 800 Series for adding additional dialtones - my question is can we just install this board in slot 5, or do we have to move the card configuration around.

You can just add it in slot 5.

Make sure you do a "board renumber" after the installation of the module - so it is properly recognized by the system - otherwise the line ports may be "dead".

The Magix that I installed and support at my church has the same cards as your system. The arrangement is a bit different.

Processor
024 TDL
016 T/R
R4 Avaya Merlin Messaging
800 GS/LS-ID

I placed the 024 in the first expansion slot so I wouldn't lose extensions 10->33.

But module placement is mostly a matter of taste.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.
