i'm about to add an additional processor to my proliant 3000r box...i assume it's as easy as popping it in the correct place...i have box running NT4.0 sp6a and another running netware 5.1 sp6......do i need to do anything on the OS side before or after doing this???

Don't know about the netware I'm afraid.

1. Processor's must be same speed and stepping level
2. Go into F10 setup. Hit ctrl-A and then hardware setup. You will see a multi-CPU type option near bottom of page now. Set that to APIC-full table support
3. Get hold of Compaq SSD and run it. There will now be an option to upgrade to dual-CPU mode for NT4. Make sure you have an extracted service pack 6 or whatever you are using available to point to.
You can also use Microsoft UPTOMP util. but that is rather more hostile.

Sorry for quality of info. above but it's all I can remember off the top of my head.
